Everesting
Aidez Jared Hung à atteindre son objectif Soutien Doublez votre don: Renaturation des sites marécageux suisses
L'Histoire
Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends, Dear Family members, Dear Business partners,
A few years ago, a challenge among cyclists was born - "Everesting". The concept of Everesting is simple: Pick any hill/mountain, anywhere in the world and complete repeats of it in a single activity (no sleep until completed) until you climb 8,848m – the equivalent height of Mount Everest. (https://everesting.cc/the-rules/)
As this challenge will take many hours to complete and should, for logistical purposes, ideally fit into a single day, careful planning (nutrition, pace, rest etc.) has gone into it in order to hopefully complete the challenge alive :-). As proof of completion, the challenge will be recorded on a Garmin device and uploaded to the popular Strava fitness tracking app.
As a passionate cyclist and bike-to-work commuter, the bike has become my favorite means of transportation, replacing the car or train many years ago, saving CO2 emissions along the way (my daily commute saves approx. 1 ton of CO2 p.a. vs. using a non-electric car according to conventional calculations).
To up the game of further reducing CO2 emissions, I have come across this UBS Optimus Foundation campaign/project to protect peatlands.
The challenge shall take place on Sunday 24 October 2021, weather permitting (no heavy rain, alternatively it will be moved by 1-2 weeks).
Looking forward to ANY contributions to the UBS Philanthropy Foundation campaign to ease the suffering of climbing Mount Everest (just follow the donation links)!
