End commercial sexual exploitation of children in Bangladesh

Project overview:

Project overview:
The Justice, Hope and Liberty (JHL) collaboration aims to build a comprehensive, scalable and portable model that mobilizes government, communities and survivors to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) in Bangladesh. This turned out to have significant high concentration in in brothels, hotels and private residences, with children living on the streets especially vulnerable to exploitation. Our partners collaboration Freedom Fund aims to sustainably address the problem by strengthening community resilience, creating a network of frontline partners to identify children at risk, supporting civil society organizations to provide care for recovery and bolstering efforts to create an effective government response to the issue. IJM works to mitigate criminal impunity as a driver of CSEC. IJM is replicating their successful Indian model and – once established in Bangladesh – will work closely with police, prosecutors and government service providers to develop a strong, survivor-informed justice system. Justice and Care has been working on the public justice system in Bangladesh for several years. It has implemented activities to increase awareness, improve prosecution of trafficking cases, and strengthen the anti-trafficking ecosystem. Justice and Care is also providing support to Freedom Fund and IJM in setting up operations and in improving understanding the CSEC landscape. |
